Soul Sound Healing
Soul Sound Healing is a experimental practice that I (Nathan) have developed for use at Mystic Mojo. It incorporates a multitude of cultural elements, that are healing and even just relaxing in their nature. The first element is the use of the Indigenous drum and rattle. This is the mainstay of the healing practice. The idea is that the patient connects mentally, emotionally, and spiritually to the beat of the drum, which helps induce relaxation and a meditative state. The second element is singing, which accompanies the drumming. I use two different styles of singing during the session. The first is overtone singing, which is more commonly referred to as throat singing. The whistled overtones accompany the beating of the drum, which further induces a state of relaxation. The second style is Indigenous style singing. My idea is that the seven notes of the Western music system can activate and clear the seven chakras, depending on their frequencies. After the drumming is completed, I utilize a practice called smudging. Smudging involves the burning of medicinal herbs to clear any negative or unwanted energy. Prayers usually accompany this process. This practice is only experimental at the moment, and its popularity among the community will determine its success. Please book your appointment through Mystic Mojo. Sincerely, Nathan Muir |
